7 of 8 teams are in and if Oregon St. beats Michigan tonight, the field will be set:

Friday's Games:
Louisville/Rice
UNC/Miss St.

Saturday's Games:
Fullerton/Arizona St. (I think)
Corvallis Super Regional/UC Irvine (Again, I think)

I'll be there from Friday until Tuesday...If not longer...

Just at first glance I would pick Rice (although U.L. is looking very good) out of the top Bracket and Cal St. Fulleton in the finals.

Of course I reserve the right to change this before the CWS starts on Friday. :D

I have been impressed with the way Louisville plays. Their team speed is unreal and makes the opposing manager do things he would not normally do.
The Cards have a total package with speed, pitching, hitting, fundementals and defense. It would be great to see a team from KY win it all even though they are dressed in Red.

I can honestly say that going to the CWS is the only possible reason I would ever want to set foot in Nebraska.

I would also love to see a Cornhusker football game in Lincon and Turkey and/or deer hunt in Nebraska.

:thumb: I agree on U.L.'s baseball team and they definately deserve to be there. I guess the only saving grace to them winning the thing would be that they do have a lot of in state kids on that team :D .

Do they play best out of three in CWS?

Do they play best out of three in CWS?

It's a two and out format until the last two teams are standing. Those two teams play in a best 2 out of 3 series...

Oregon State finished off Michigan in a series sweep to be the last entry to Omaha,. With their win they will have the chance to defend their title of 2006. OSU is the first team since Texas in 2003 to return to Omaha a year after they won the NC I believe.

Fridays game:
Louisville / Rice
Noth Carolina / Miss. State

Saturdays games:
Cal State-Fullerton / Arizona State
Oregon State / UC Irvine

I belive this is the correct brackets / someone correct me if I am wrong :thumb:

I'm a fan of a bunch of the baseball programs in this year.

UNC (obviously)
UofL (again, obviously)
Fullerton (Love George Horton)
Arizona St. (Love Pat Murphy, even though Bonds went there)
Miss. St. (LOVE Ron Polk)
Rice (Really like Wayne Graham)

So, unless UC Irvine wins it or Oregon St. repeats, I'll be a happy camper...

Rice vs. Fullerton for the title....I like the Rice program also and Coach Graham, but they have limited offensive ability and at this point, their pitching may not carry them.

I like Miss. St. and Arizona State, with the ASU winning it all.

I know after UofL you are pulling for Ron Polk...:DYou know it and I still, read that book....

I really like the Rice Owls, especially bc of W. Grahm. I still believe the guy is really Sparky Anderson in the witness protection program. :D

I like Oregon State a lot along with Fullerton.

I also really like Miss. St.'s program and R. Polk (don't want to lose Cohen at U.K. to them if he retires), they have a long history and tradition of excelence in baseball.

I think that although U.L. may not be a favorite going in, they could certainly be trouble for a lot of teams in this. Cards are very impressive and I would not count them out at all.

I have to go along with stickymitts in that I like most if not all of the teams in this years CWS and I am looking foward to a very good tournament. :ylsuper:

Not really :D and I have a line for that but had better not :sssh: :D , Oregon State has another strong team and could very well win the CWS again. Always tough to repeat though. I wouldn't be real upset if any of these teams won it. Imo it is a good field. Kind of strange with Texas not being it it, don't you think? I can't bring myself to pull for ASU or Irvine though, I have never liked ASU and just can't see myself pulling for a team called the "Anteaters"  .

Have a great and safe trip mitts, I am looking foward to your stories from the CWS :thumb: .

If it would've been UK and Texas, it would've been PERFECT, at least for my liking. I just may have to get an Anteaters and Beavers shirt..for good measure...

Thanks, there's a chance that I'll be keeping everyone posted from Omaha...:D
