Great season for the "Cardinal 9" as I've seen them referred to (02Ram54 I think). They have a TON to be proud of.
Made KY proud...

UNC's starter went seven innings giving up only three hits for one run. Yuck.
For anyone who got to see the game... did this guy have some serious stuff or did the bats just fall asleep today?

Great job by the UNC pitchers in shutting down the Cards potent bats, U.L. was held to 3 hits. UNC now advances to play Rice, they would have to beat Rice twice to advance to te championship series.
Congrats to U.L. on a fine season. :thumb: The Cards had a fine season.

He kept the U.L. hitters off balance all day by mixing his pitches up, keeping the Cardinal hitters guessing and locating the pitches well. Holding U.L. to 3 hits is a great outing.
The closer then came in and just blew them away.
I believe that the U.L. pitchers held UNC to just 3 hits as well, not sure.

Excellent season for the Cards. They made a great showing in Omaha and represented their University & the State of Kentucky very well.

I have some serious beefs with calls that were made in this game...but all in all I think the pressure finally got to these boys....they stopped swinging at everything, which is what got them there...all in all they were a goofy error by a freshman, away from going into extra innings, WITH THE 3 seed in the tourney..all is good.

Two choices:
1) Stay the night in Omaha and get a good nights rest, then make the 11 hour drive East...
2) Or, suck it up and leave around midnight so I could be home in time to watch this game...
After all of that, I fell asleep in the 6th inning...
I really thought that the only way Louisville would lose in the CWS is the way they lost their first game. Lots and lots of runs. Never saw them being held to one run...
Great season though. A lot of fun to watch. Dominguez hit some BOMBS. Gave him a 'hand pound' before the first game and thought I broke a knuckle. Big dude...
Have a close up picture of Cates and yes, I am taller than him.
Tons of fun and UofL being there was icing on the cake...as well as UNC, Rice, ASU, CSF and Miss. St....:thumb:

Have to go back to work so as long as 'the man' doesn't keep me down, I'll get with you on a time...
So, how big did the ratings go up after my last appearance?:D

Just give me any 6 minute window from 1:30-2:30 and it's all good.
And you didn't provide much of a ratings boost because you were a surprise guest...

Perhaps the Louisville players were distracted before this game.
http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/college/?p=201
• Louisville might be making its first appearance at the College World Series, but the senior-laden Cardinals aren’t overwhelmed by the spectacle.
“I don’t want to hide from the fact that the kids are going to be excited, I don’t want them to try to act too macho,” Cardinals coach Dan McDonnell said. “The coolest they tried to act was when they met (ESPN’s) Erin Andrews in the lobby. I told them, ‘guys, stop acting like you’re so cool and macho.’ This is a kids’ game, and they should be excited.”
I'd probably lose my concentration too.

How can we (UL fans) be anything less than awed and proud at the accomplishments of this team?! Thanks goes out to (former) Coach Prado for all he did in recruiting these kids and spending 3 years molding them into a potentially great team. Thanks to Coach McDonnell for taking over and taking it to the next level! I have to give Kudos to Gavin Logsdon, a Grayson County High School product, who really did an AWESOME job as a reliever throughout the entire run! The Cougars are proud! What a season!
