BGP 4th Region Girls' Preview

1. Franklin-Simpson (26-4) - The Cook sisters have been quite a force for the Lady Cats over the last few years. Senior Kelleshia has been mostly a starter at point guard since eighth grade and is close to 2,000 points for her career. Dominique is a junior who might be the most improved team in the region.
F-S has a strong group of seven players and can put 10 good ones on the floor.
2. Warren East (24-7) - The Lady Raiders have undeniably the best player in the region with Ashley Rainey. The 6-foot-2 junior forward could average 30 points and 15 rebounds a game for East. Tennessee and other Southeastern Conference powers are very interested in this junior star.
East also has Lauren Mahaney at 6-2 to give the team a significant inside game.
3. Cumberland County (24-6) - Kristen Rowe combines with Lauren Fletcher to give Cumberland County perhaps the best backcourt in the region.
4. Barren County (26-7) - The Trojenettes won their third regional title with Coach John Butler in charge. They do have guard Courtney Thomas to help them make another run at back-to-back titles.
5. Greenwood (18-9) - Four starters return for the Lady Gators. They include two seniors in the backcourt (Laura Smith and Lauren Lamb) who should provide stability.
