Legacy, you're constantly manipulating you're previous posts. I'm not going back to look at all of your old posts on this subject as someone already did that and it's all a moot point now. Alot of people you're arguing with are more "in the know" on this subject and that's not a knock on you at all. You're assuredly more in the know on other topics. However, there's a few things that you just don't seem to want to agree with but are pretty much fact: 1) The round in which Luke was drafted was more reflective of his signability than his talent. 2) Luke had a number in mind that it would take him to forego college and he didn't get it. I'm still very confident in saying that he WAS offered $400k and that wasn't enough in Luke's mind. Nothing wrong with that, Luke's choice. 3) The Maile's have nothing to gain by "lying" or "prettying" anything up for the public. 4) If Luke were a late-round talent in the Sox eyes, it wouldn't have gone down to August 17th. Now, me being a selfish BatCats fan, I must say I am very happy with the end result. Good luck to Luke and the Maile family.

Made the story sound better....and I couldn't remember. He didn't have a Zito-esque hook like one pitcher on that team, I know that much.

Chaz Roe from Lexington was picked 32nd overall a few years ago and got somewhere in the $1-2mil signing bonus and that's straight from UK Head Coach Gary Henderson. A friend of mine that graduated high school in 2004 (tall lefty who threw smoke) was drafted in the 43rd-45th round by the White Sox. He didn't even get a phone call that day and then received an offer sheet in the mail with a signing bonus somewhere in the $500-1000 range. From multiple sources (none within the Maile family), I'm pretty confident in saying that Luke has been offered in the $400-500k range and is still deciding. Legacy, using those two examples I've provided, what type of player do you think the Sox consider Maile to be closer to? Top 5 or Bottom 5?

It has been beaten to death but Brossart couldn't hack it as a CCH head coach even with better talent, in my opinion. Personality doesn't fit. The common sentiment among CCH football alum is that they're happy to have a guy like Wirth back. There was no connection to the program with old players when coaches Rodenberg and Brossart were there. Wirth has changed that for the better.

I know a Moeller coach and I believe it was a 7-on-7, not scrimmage.

Honestly, Wirth should have been the HC at CCH for a few years now. As I've said for awhile, Clines/Guidugli did not do a good job (read: did not listen to Coach Ray enough) when finding a new coach when Ray retired. Is Rodenberg a good coach? Obviously. Was he the right hire for CCH as a PROGRAM...not in my opinion. I won't even really say anything about Brossart other than the fact that he was in over his head from the get-go. (Queue Park Hills Mafia slams). Wirth is a good coach who is very passionate about faith and football. Having played for him, I'm very happy with the hire and think he'll do well because he'll really involve himself in the CCH community which is a big part of being a head coach, I think.

Off the top of my head, I want to say that CC did play under "Blazer". If not, I have....and I'll say the same thing that ColonelCrazy did. Wirth can do much better. And in response to an earlier post, Acito was offered a spot and declined. He'll be coaching D-Line at Mt. St. Joe.

Wirth should have been there ever since Coach Ray left. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see a coach at CCH who isn't using it as a stepping stone (Rodenberg) or is in over his head (Brossart). My guess is that Wirth will bring some assistants from Badin (where despite around a .500 record, he did a great job from what it looks like). Also, I would love to see him get Coach Ray to come on board in some capacity.

Glad to hear it. Like I said, I have limited knowledge of him, only knowing that he was at Brossart.

The first thing that Rowe needs to do is get someone (I don't know from where) that has experience with a football program and making important decisions with that program. I don't know if he has any experience but I do know that he came from Brossart and that's not ample experience to make an important hire like this one. That being said, I would say you need to take a strong look at Dave Wirth (former assistant at CCH) who has done a good job with Badin in Cincinnati. Also, although I'm pretty sure he won't apply, Tony Acito would be a great candidate.

That's a very touching story. I can relate to you having played in good times as well as bad times. I'm not trying to disrespect him, I'm simply stating that he's not cut out for the job. I think he proved that by the way he treated many people who have been around the CCH football family wayyy longer than he has and that's a different story. I have no problem with you supporting him. I did the same for Lynn Ray. But I (and many other CCH alumni/supporters) stand strongly on the belief that he isn't the man for the job. And there's ways to call out teammates and there's ways not to call out teammates. Doing so in a public forum is one of the ways NOT to do it. Take care of it behind closed doors, it happens all the time.
