  1. When does the 5 come out? Im due for a new phone in October.
  2. A 5 and a 7 point quarter in the same game? OUCH
  3. Is there any sports that Newport is competitive in any more? Our sports programs seem pretty bad lately.
  4. Im kind of embarrased to be an alum and not even know who this guy was until going to this link.
  5. Forget Miles, what about his daddy David Simpson in the early 80's. He was probably the best RB ever out of Newport and one of the best in the state in his day.
  6. The kids in the program just dont get it. Its an awful situation for the coaching staff, and its not any brighter in the upcoming classes either. No discipline what so ever for a lot them, not going to say all of them because that just wouldnt be fair to some of the kids down there. Its not on the coaching staff either, it starts well before these guys ever get to them. They are trying to make these kids better men not just on but off the field as well and its just not getting through to a lot of them. Is there a ton of talent in the program right now? No, but its not as bad as they have been either. I feel bad for the kids that are committed to getting better and showing up everyday busting there butts to get better, quite a few of there teammates aren't giving them that. As an Alumni and former player I couldnt ever imagine missing practice for any reason and it seems to be common now days with some of those guys. It's embarrasing that some of those kids call themselves Newport Wildcats and it has nothing to do with wins and losses. Sad to hear that some of them played like punks on friday night.
  7. Thought the QB for Trinity made a really nice play on this one. Then not such a good throw on the INT next play.
  8. I just tried google chrome but I couldnt get that to work either.
  9. Well now I dont have the feed. Shucks.
  10. Of course now that I get the feed to work its halftime. Is it in black and white for you guys too?
  11. How healthy is Beechwood? At the middle school games on Saturday he mentioned that they got hit with quite a few injuries the night before and spent a decent amount of time at the doctors office Saturday morning.
  12. I agree, I cant stand listening to coachspeak. Nobody wants to hear that boring crap over and over every year.
  13. Wildcats came out ready from the get go, they scored on their first play from scrimmage on a very nice playcall that had #21 wide open all by himself for the td catch. Before you knew it Newport had a 24-0 lead. Could have been 38-0 if it wasnt for 2 fumbles deep in Bellevue territory with one being unforced with first and goal from the 3. Bellevue did fight back and take advantage of the miscues and I believe they scored off both turnovers to make the score 24-12. They could have easily called it a night being down 24 early but they did fight back and tried to get themselves back in the game. Newport had a couple tds called back on penalties which they really need to get cleaned up because they cant afford to keep having scores coming off the board due to penalty. Bellevue's kick return team was beyond bad, if Im the Bellevue coach I might have a whole new 11 on that team next week. They let the Wildcats recover two kickoffs which really werent even onside kicks, the tigers just failed to get on the football. No excuse for not recovering those two kicks.
