BluegrassPreps.com and the Kentucky News Network are once again working together to promote high school football in Kentucky.

We are currently taking nominations for the BGP/KNN player of the week! The player of the week can be from any team and is based on game performance from this weekend.

Please submit your nomination in this thread and provide as much background/stats/information as possible from their game this week.

The winner will be announced on "The Saturday Morning High School Scoreboard Show" Hosted by Al Mayo. The show can be heard on all of these great stations:

Hey folks--it's been great using all the nominees (last year) week after week on the show, and we'll continue to use them for the foreseeable future. I wanted to remind you of a couple things. When you nominate a player, I need his height, weight, and class designation (Freshman, Sophomore, Etc). I also need the stats to be correct. Just telling me it looked like he ran for over a hundred yards won't do it. Please include all pertinent numbers like carries, pass attempts, completions, yardage gained, number of tackles--you all understand what I need. Otherwise, I have to track these numbers down. Not that I mind doing the legwork, but I normally save this part of the show for last, so I can take nominees until the last possible hour, so I just don't have the time to look it all up. I'll usually pull the information from here by Thursday afternoon, so try to have your candidates nominated by about 2:00pm Thursdays. I couldn't be happier with the information you've all provided, and I'm looking forward to continuing our association with BGP!

KNN High School Scoreboard Show

Shawn Grimm from Johnson Central. He has something like 1,300 yards in 7 games. In the apple bowl tonight, he had 6 td's, 34 yds recieving on one catch and 256 rushing on 15 carries.

I've got to nominate Bethlehem's Billy Jackson again. 6'0 215 senior went for 268 yards rushing and 4 TD's (25, 12, 5, 85) against Casey Co. in the Eagles 49-13 win, which improved their record to 6-0. Billy is now over the 1,000 yard mark for the second straight year.

22 carries 277 yards through 3 quarters. Tied school record for most yards rushing in a game. 4 Touchdowns

I'd like to nominate 6'1 200 pound senior Kasey Clark from Russell.

He had 226 yards rushing on 12 carrys and 4 tds through 2 quarters and 1 shortly into the 3rd ( he was pulled after he scored) to lead Russell to the win.

Nominate sophomore RB Dalton Cissell of North Bullitt. Followed up his 313 yards rushing last week, with 266 yards rushing and 5 TD's on 16 carries (all in the first half) in North's 56-0 win over Bullitt Central.

Christian County quarterback Keith Tandy threw for a school record 526 yards (20-of-33 passing) and 8 TDs against Greenwood. He also ran eight times for 102 yards and a score giving him 9 TDs on the night. Christian Co. beat Greenwood 69-35.

Shane Popham - Covington Catholic - Senior Kicker 57 yard field goal against Bishop Waterson. 2nd longest in State History.

Last week's KNN Scoreboard Show/Bluegrass Preps .com Player Of The Week was Monroe County senior Seth Graves. Graves started his first game at running back and answered the call with 33 carries for a school-record 448 yards and five touchdowns in a 43-20 win over Edmonson County.

Antwain Loving WR Hopkinsville. Broke and set the school record for most TD's caught by one player in a single game, 4 against Union County. Made 6 catches for 165 yards and return a kickoff return 82 yards for another score. Hoptown has been playing football for 101 years. This was Loving second game of the year after sitting out the first four.

I would like to nominate Raceland QB Scott Grizzle for his performance against Bath County.

The 6'1" 190 lb. QB was 10-14 for 256 yds and threw for 4 TD's in leading the Rams to a district win.

Grizzle has thrown for 1.029 yds &14 TD's in 7 games to get his team to a 7-1 record. He has 83 completions in 135 attempts with 4 INT.

Aaron Root was big for Williamsburg against Harlan. 3 Receptions for 119 yards and 3 TDs, 20 plus tackles on defense, forced fumble and a pass break up.
