10th Regional Question

For those of you that attended the 10th Region finals game yesterday between Mason County and Clark County and have been to the new Montgomery Co. gym, do you think that Montgomery Co. can host a crowd like the Fieldhouse did yesterday?

I am wondering what people are thinking regarding this situation.

The Fieldhouse is the best possible place in the 10th Region to host this tournament.

I agree, the Fieldhouse is the best place for the 10th region tournament, they do a good job every year.

I've heard that the new gym in Mt. Sterling only holds 4,500 tops. Anyone have the attendance stats from yesterday? The fire marshall would play a big role if Montgomery hosts one in the future.

5,300 yesterday.

There is no way possible Montgomery County can hold the crowd that came out for the Mason/Clark regional final.

There is no way Montgomery could hold the Mason/Brossart semi final game that was played Saturday afternoon at noon.

Those were the only 2 games I attended and after being in Montgomery Countys gym this past week, no way the new gym can handle those two crowds. Montgomery Countys gym is a nice facility though.

Montgomery has no chance at that crowd. The fieldhouse is where its best!

If yesterdays game was at Montgomery Co. many would have been turned away.

No way they would have got all those people in Montgomery county .But with that said i thinks its only fair to give them a shot next year and see,The results wont lie either way it goes!:thumb:

I believe capacity is only in the high 3000 but we all know they will surpass the capacity as Mason has many times.

Next year with Mason Co being the big favorite...don't look for the crowd you had yesterday at next years finals.

I can personally relate to a 1992 final that pitted Mason County(the heavy favorite) taking on Nicholas County and I am telling you the fieldhouse had a larger seating capacity at that time and there were people standing all over the gymnasium. There couldn't have been a single person left in Nicholas County that night. Crowds will always turn out to watch 10th Region basketball at the fieldhouse......all about tradition.
