C-J Class of 2011 Rankings

The boys' Class of 2011 in the state of Kentucky lost one of its sure-fire Division I prospects when Tony Kimbro Jr. left Manual for a prep schools this fall.

But with this class, that's not even a dent in the talent.

The sophomore class statewide has some big-time talent that will keep the Division I colleges sniffing around the Bluegrass State for the next few seasons.

It's one of those classes we have been waiting to come around.

Here are my ratings:

1. Vinny Zollo (photo), Clark County, 6-8: He's already committed to Kentucky and moved to Winchester from Ohio in the off season.
   
2. Robbie Stenzel, Clark County, 6-4: I saw Stenzel last winter and was thinking about putting him ahead of Kimbro; he's a lot of fun to watch.
   
3. Jordan Shanklin, Warren Central, 5-11: One of two talented teammates; Shanklin is already getting a lot of looks.
   
4. George Fant, Warren Central, 6-6: A little more imrpovement and maturity and we could be talking about top 100 nationally with Fant.
   
5. Timmy Knipp, Elliott County, 6-7: Extremely athletic for a big guy.
   

The #1 and #2 ranked players play for GRC. By the time these Sophomores are Seniors......along with the other talented Sophomores on the team should be playing for a state title.

I think GRC along with Warren Central will be very tough over the next few years.

Demling calls Timmy very athletic for a big guy. He is extremely athletic and has already thrown down three contested monster dunks in the first few games. He can also shoot the 3 ball well and handle the rock and go coast to coast.

Yes we could...but still alot of work to accomplish.

I don't believe this class is as good as 09 or 10 class, but its still going to be solid IMO.

Jordan Gilbert from Mason will make this list by the time he's a senior IMO.

I think Keyvon Arnold (6'6 G/F) of Holmes will make this list by the time he's a senior as well.

Travis Purvis, from GRC may also be on that list by the time he's a senior.:ylsuper:

If the soph's at CCH continue to work hard, could have a couple on here their senior year as well.

Travis Purvis is going to be a stud over the next two years. He had an unfortunate accident of tearing his ACL before the season started, but he would have been a HUGE contributor this year as a soph for the Cards. He might very well be the best big man in the state his senior year.

If the soph's at CCH continue to work hard, could have a couple on here their senior year as well.

No disrespect to them, but doubtful. Thelen is probably their best soph and I really don't see him being in that category.
