Final

Enjoyed watching this game as two top teams matchup. Chelsea Tolliver was amazing to watch. I've seen her before, and she always looks good...but last night, (especially against another top team) she was definitely the whole package!! She seems to never run of energy either!!! 110% for the whole game. No attitude. Just great talent and game smarts..:ylsuper:

Way to go SK!

Big win for the Pioneers!

It seems farris is doing a fine job replacing Figgins in the lineup.

I imagine the Rebel girls are running alot of windsprints today at practice.;)

Coach actually gave them the day off. They need to really take a look at themselves and get back to that hungry attitude they had last year when expectations were not as high. They seem to be reading their rankings and individual write-ups instead of playing the game with passion. they think just because they show up they will get the win. Simon Kenton showed how wrong they are. IMO Simon Kenton is like Boone last year hungry to show everyone they are indeed a contender. Congrats to SK on executing a very nice game plan and sticking to it.

Some observations: With Reed out our other 2 starting seniors did not step up and take control or bring the rest of the team together. They both fouled out in the 4th quarter with over 3 minutes left in the game. Jackie only took 6 shots the whole game. Part of that was good defense by Connley the rest was not making yourself a shot. Jo, bad fouls and just never got into the flow of the game on offense or defense. Our 3 big girls never got down on the blocks for an entry pass. Every time they would get the ball they were 8 to 10 feet away from the basket, except in the 2nd half by Behrens she finall got on the block and made some nice shots. We never forced SK to sag back and open up the outside. Again congrats to SK they showed Boone how it is to really want a game and then execute to seal the deal.

Switzer is a lock-down defender and we were all surprised that she just didn’t seem to mentally be there from the opening tip, but none of them were and they deservingly got smacked. Sparrow didn’t fare too much better defending Tolliver when Switzer was out. Overall, it was her night to shine and she did. Conley was not a factor on offense for 3½ quarters until she was put on the line where she normally shoots 59% on the season. She went 8-8 during the Boone comeback so that was huge. As a team they were 11/12 during that final stretch (19/25 overall) where they normally shoot 56% on the season. SK showed tremendous poise to hold on after seeing a 16pt lead diminish so fast.

I agree with 3pt that Farris was a huge factor. Her baskets seem to come at the most crucial times during Boone’s runs. IMO, the unsung hero that is getting overlooked is Smith. She almost had a double-double against a much bigger/stronger/faster front line and she more than held her own and she hasn’t been mentioned. Smith was awesome! Both Smith and Tolliver have raised their level of play considerably under the direction of Coach Stowers. He has developed these girls into the top players at their respective positions in all of NKY. Great job ladies!

Shocker! I watched SK earlier and didn't think they were anywhere near Boone.

Congrats to the coaches Stowers.

I agree INDAZONE Stowers has done wonders with this team he has developed these girls into some very good basketball players. they not only play well they now have the mentality that they can beat you something they did not have last year. We will see how they handle their region rivals tonight. Should be a good game against Shelby Co.
