The Negative Impact of the 6 Class System

Tonight's semifinal scores show the negative impact of spreading the talented teams out over 6 classes instead of 4. One would think that when you get to the Final 4 in the state for a class that the majority of games would be competitive. Unfortunately, we're seeing blowouts.

That's too bad. If the state championship is the first really good competitive game in the playoffs, its a problem.

I still think it was a bad move from the start.

You are saying that there hasn't been any good competitive games???

If Paducah Tilghman, Fort Campbell, and Lone Oak all make the state title games...something is definitely wrong...It is totally watered down then in some classes everyone is stacked together!

Mayfield, Holy Cross, Beechwood, and Frankfort were all on one side the the Class A bracket...I mean at least get something right, KHSAA?

It was definitely a bad move. I think maybe 5 classes could have worked but the 6 class thing is a joke. As was stated to many blowouts in the semi-finals and teams with losing records making the playoffs. Ridiculous IMO

BG/Central was the only one score game last year. I guess 4 was too many as well...

1 26 pt margin and 3 28 poiint margins and one of the 28 could have been a 70.

Why leave out the two biggest blowouts? Not like they led to the same in the Finals...

But those are still better than what we're seeing now.

14,25,21,6 - that would be great compared to where we are now.

The negative impact is that no matter how many classes you have the same old programs will be in PJS every year. St. X, Trinity, Highlands, Belfry, NCC and Beechwood will always be considered favorites and more than likely make their way to the carpet.
