BIRDS State Rings

Today after school the State Champ Birds will be getting sized for their State Rings. I think the Seniors did a great job designing them. I really liked the roman numerals for 17 State Championships. Any other thoughts?:thumb:

Not yet...just a sketch. Octagonal front with blue block-style "H" on a bed of white. Has a bunch of tiny circles so I'll assume stone chips on the face. "STATE" above the H and "CHAMPIONS" below. Roman numerals XVII (17)on each side. On one the side is "18th in USA" above a REDDOG BULLDOG FACE with "15-0" beneath it. The other side of the ring will have the players "NAME" above a H-football helmet and a football with their # inside. Beneath this will be the year "2007".

That was the same complaint towards the 2004 state ring design. However, the 2004 ring had Kentucky's Finest inscribed on it! Oh well, the seniors are excited about it ...afterall its their ring and they earned it! :thumb:

Cost: about $350 for silver and a little over $800 for gold. The manufacturer said it is the most expensive highschool ring they have ever made... Merry Christmas fellas...

wow $800... my 2000 white gold was around $500 I believe.

No question the Seniors earned it! It does look really cool from the front.

Why can't it somewhere say Highlands or Kentucky on it? And what do you mean "Oh Well" it's their ring. Wrong!!!:mad: Tell that to the rest of the players that contributed to help win Highlands 17 State Championship! I'm assuming that you didn't mean it that way or ? I'm sure they are excited about it but so is my son that didn't get to play all year because of an injury.

Yea, I felt the same way but hey it's their ring and I'm just happy they are getting one so I'm not going to say a word but "Congrats Birds for bringing home #17".

I informed one of the seniors it would be neat to have the HHS cannon on the side - with the Birds Nest banner below it. He said, "Why didn't they put that on your ring?" After a short pause, "Oh, you didn't win a State Championship your year..." :madman:

Since people are referring to the ring as being their(seniors) ring, I wonder then if players that don't like the "complete' design can go out and get their(juniors and sophomores) own alternate design.

Are the players paying for them? I thought the KHSAA has a limit ($300) on what the school or donations can pay for?
