Clay Co. 69 Powell Co. 66

Heard this score on the radio. No details other than Anthony Hibbard had 20+ points.

Listened to part of the game. From what I could tell Clay was in bad foul trouble, played most of the 4th with four guards and William Jones. Good road win for the Tigers.

I was kind of surprised when they said Swofford only had four points. Was he in foul trouble?

The Pirates are proving that playing against better competition will only make them a better team....wait until district tournament time

Yes Jim, he was in foul trouble but he was also only 2 for 6 from the field early in the game. Hibbard seems to be improving and Clay won...That's the only good things I have to say about the game. If Clay wants to separate from the middle of the pack in the 13th they better start improving as a team. IMO Clay took a step forward in the Harlan game and a step backwards in this one. :creepy:

Is Jones finally back to 100% after the ankles? If so how did he play last night?

Hard to take a step in any direction in the game between the Pirates and Clay played last night. Have to say, I am ashamed of 14th region officials.

Looking @ Clay Co. Schedule, they should win 20+ games easy. Also, can any Clay fans tell me why the Lewis kid is not starting @ one of the guard spots.

You sound surprised. It was at Powell wasn't it?

Hopefully it wasn't really that bad?

That's a question for coach Gray to answer. Does it really matter who's in the starting lineup? It's the coaches decision on who starts a game and who comes off the bench...Too many variables involved in the decision for a fan to question who starts...We would have to know each kid personally, attend every practice, know all their tendencies and how they matched up with their teammates offensively as well as defensively. As fans, we have no idea and shouldn't care. Best thing to do is...Next time you see Coach Gray, ask him...He'll give you an answer. ;) If you are insinuating Clay's schedule is "EASY", ask M. Jones about that, 95% of it is his. I guess he figured Clay wasn't exactly loaded for bear this year. We are 10-3 with a win @ Harlan though. :thumb:

Powell at least made a game out of it. I thought it would be ugly.

In your opinion, did the officiating have anything to do with making a game out of it? I wasn't at the game but noticed some of the posts in this thread. I havn't heard any gripes from Clay fans about the officiating.

Oh, sorry. I wasn't there either. I was goin by the score. Sorry for the confusion.
