Top softball teams in your region

Who are the top 2-3 teams in your region and who is the favorite to win?

Ryle would be the favorite due to having the Allen girl on the mound. When you have a top-notch D1 pitcher, you tend to win a lot of games.

I would look for Dixie to compete for the top spot as well.

Boone was young last year and battled hard so I would expect to see them. Add in Conner and it looks like you're going through the county of Boone to get to the state tourney.

15th Region, Pikeville and Shelby Valley...

Either could win depending on how Natalie Gooch does for Pikeville and Courtney Bentley does for Shelby Valley....

I'll disagree slightly. Until proven otherwise, you have to put Boone ahead of NDA. NDA, Holmes, and SHDHS are all very close.

You know more about NDA than I do, but I know more about Boone than you. At best they're on a fairly even level this year. Any one of them could take that 4-5-6 spot. But none are on the level of the pitching of Ryle, Conner & Dixie.

Dixie fall even fall off quite a bit after losing several top quality players. It will be hard for them to replace Gronefeld.

Don't forget East Ridge. Too bad only two of those teams will make it to region.

I would think Calloway County would be the favorite in the 1st and Owensboro Catholic in the 3rd

In the 12th Region look for Pulaski County, Southern, Casey County AND Rockcastle County to battle it out for region supremecy. I'm not sure which teams will have the best years cause I don't know what the first three have coming back but I look for all four teams to have some knock down drag out fights ths year.

In the 10th I'd say it will be a close matchup between Mason Co. and Bracken Co.

It usually comes down to these 2 teams in the finals.

Somerset Not quite i dont know. Southwestern is suppose to be good and Pulasi is decent. Probably Southwester they have Barnscum she can throw it pretty hard i heard.

Williamsburg looks to be pretty good this year.

Does picking them preseason third sound like I'm counting them out?

Although Gronefeld, Stelzer & Schmidt were allot to lose, three 3+ year starters. With that said, I don't think Dixie can hang with Ryle or Conner unless something happens to their pitchers. Dixie's pitching does put them ahead of Highlands, ND & Boone at this point. :sssh:

Point well taken. I am sorry, but I didn't mean you were counting them out. I just know that they have been practicing hard during the off season. And you're right, if the pitcher from Dixie could get back to the shape she was in as a frosh, they could be tough to handle. Of course, Ryle and Conner are super tough.
